A ‘tinplate’ Kitson-Meyer and other delights to view
I would like to introduce to this site David Argent, or rather his toy train creations. David lives in South Carolina in the US and we met on the net via a Yahoo group devoted to French and other European tinplate. However as well as collecting and running David also build his own stock, generally of unusual prototypes, very much in the style of classic tinplate trains, and often using their mechanisms. His latest creation, which prompted this post and is the subject of the heading photo, is a model of a Kitson-Meyer articulated locomotive, one of a class used on the Ferrocarril Trasandino that ran between Los Andes in Chile and Mendoza in Argentina.
As well as building the models David also videos them. So just click on this link David Argent YouTube videos to take you to David’s YouTube channel and enjoy seeing the Kitson-Meyer, and quite a few others, in action.
Thanks you David for sharing these with us (and of course for the taking the heading photo).
