SUMMARY:Lionel Collectors Club UK Annual Show
DESCRIPTION:LIONEL COLLECTORS CLUB UK are collectors and operators of all makes of North American 'O' & 'S' Gauge electric toy trains. The club website is www.lccuk.org.uk \nNorth American three rail 'O' gauge electric trains run on approximately 20 volts A.C. They are coarse scale 'O' gauge and differ from modern British 'O' gauge in their use of the third rail\, and of A.C.\, rather than D.C. However some early Hornby electric trains used this system. The manufacture of these American trains started just after the turn of the century\, about 1906. Up to World War II\, most of them were in tin-plate and die-cast metal. After World War II plastics replaced the tin-plate\, while use of die-cast continues. Less well known is the slightly smaller 2 rail ‘S’ gauge. \nAt the show there will be at least eight  layouts\, a couple of sales stalls and the usual cafe.

This venue and the facilities were very well liked in 2018.  The club's motto is; any make\, any gauge and any age so you will find trains running that are over 80 years old right up to modern trains available today\, we expect trains will be running in gauges 00\, H0\, S gauge\, 0 gauge and gauge one from dozens of manufacturers from around the world. There will also be 0 gauge live steam trains running.

DESCRIPTION:The 2020 Spring show and AGM will be again held in Leicester at the Trinity Centre\, \nThe Train Collectors Society will be holding their Spring Show and AGM just outside Leicester on Saturday the 7th of March 2020. \nThe Trinity Church Halls off Narborough Rd and in Hallam Cres Leicester LE3 2RD has been a popular venue for the Autumn shows for over 25 years and is a few minutes drive from the MI junction 21. \nThere will be over 10 vintage toy train displays running and 15 specialist toy train traders. There will be the ever popular Club Bring and Buy stall so bring along your unwanted clutter. \nThe Theme for the Club display stand will be "Little & Large" themed loco - this could be taken as diminutive (e.g. four wheeler) and massive (e.g. Pacifics)\, or tiny scale (e.g. N) and large scale (e.g. gauge I). However you want to interpret it\, bring something along for others to enjoy. \nCurrently planned layouts are: \n\nLoose laid large traditional 0 gauge tinplate\nTriang 00 railways large layout\nJames Bond 00 layout\nExtensive themed static display of 00 gauge trains a material\nLarge O gauge tin plate layout\nLarge tin plate 0 gauge layout featuring Minic and other toys.\nVery large 0 gauge layout featuring LNER\nMore to be announced\n\n  \nDoors will be open from 10.30. SUMMARY:2019 TCS Public Summer Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:TCS Summer Show near Aylesbury Bucks 6 th July 2019 \nThe Train Collectors Society will be holding our 21th Summer show again at the Stoke Mandeville Stadium close to the famous hospital near Aylesbury Buckinghamshire .  There will be a large hall as before with at least 20 working model and toy train displays and over 20 specialist model and toy train traders.  We also plan to hold our popular Bring and Buy stand for TCS members so bring along your unwanted items. There will be plenty of free parking space and hot and cold food and refreshments in the cafeteria in the entrance to the main centre a few yards away. This venue and the facilities were very well liked in 2018.  The club's motto is; any make\, any gauge and any age so you will find trains running that are over 80 years old right up to modern trains available today\, we expect trains will be running in gauges 00\, H0\, S gauge\, 0 gauge and gauge one from dozens of manufacturers from around the world. There will also be 0 gauge live steam trains running. \nThis year the following layouts will be on display: \n\nHornby 0 gauge included three layouts \nHornby  Dublo two rail\nHornby  Dublo three rail\nHornby 00 live steam \n0 gauge live steam 1930's\nAmerican Flyer S gauge \nStandard gauge Lionel\nGauge 1 and 2 various 1930's \n0 gauge Big Big\nBing 0 gauge\nCarrette 0 gauge\nPlaycraft Railways 00 gauge 1961 - 1969\nTri- ang 00 gauge transcontinental \nTri - ang TT gauge \n\n\nIn addition there will be also 22 specialist traders.\nDirections; The venue is just a mile south east of Aylesbury centre and the hospital is very well sign posted from the town. Aylesbury is approx 15 miles from junction 11a on the M1 ( A5) and 12 miles from junction 8A on the M40 northbound or 9 southbound.  Aylesbury train station (Chiltern Lines) is approx a mile from the venue and there is a bus stop a few hundred yards from the venue with a limited service. There is a large modern Travelodge in the centre of Aylesbury.  The venue also has its own accommodation available on campus at a discounted rate for traders and exhibitors . Follow signs for the hospital south out of town which will become The Mandeville Rd\, before reaching the hospital turn left at the roundabout into Stadium Approach (which is also where the bus stops are located ) follow the road to the stadium\, please see map of the stadium ; when facing the main entrance to The Cazenove Sports Hall ( in green) turn right\, the TCS event is being held in the Indoor Bowls Centre in Orange.  Children under 10 have free entrance when accompanied by an adult. SUMMARY:Alresford Festival of Toy Trains

SUMMARY:Lionel Collectors Club 2018 Show
DESCRIPTION:The Lionel Collectors Club UK is holding its 2018 annual show at the Trinity Methodist Church\, Leicester\, on Saturday 2nd June 2018. \nThere is usually a good selection of club members displaying a wide range of vintage and new products from the Lionel stable with a smattering of American Flyer and Marx trains when those members are available to attend. \nThe show also has a few stalls selling a variety of new and second-hand equipment. \nThe show starts at 10.30 in the morning\, and ends at 16.30. The day is spent running members' trains. If visitors bring compatible American 'O' gauge trains we are happy to give them a run on one of our layouts. \n \nIn the evening the members have a club meal. After the meal the layouts are run again with the hall lights dimmed down so that the lights from the trains can seen racing around the tracks. \nThe Lionel Club welcomes all TCS members and fellow enthusiasts and looks forward to seeing you there

SUMMARY:2017 TCS Public Summer Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:The 2017 TCS Summer Show will be held at a new and much larger venue\, Stantonbury Arts & Leisure Centre in Milton Keynes on Saturday 15 July 2017. This is a large light hall in a modern building just a short drive from the M1. \nWe will be using the venue’s large main sports hall allowing for more displays and traders and nice wide aisles. These premises will be far better for the show than last year's venue at Biggleswade which was very cramped and exhibits had to be spread over a number of smallish rooms. We have a total of 23 exhibits (see below) and 22 traders on 49 tables (we are now fully booked for space). SUMMARY:Alresford Festival of Toy Trains
DESCRIPTION:The show is the largest of its kind in southern England and aims to raise money for groups in and around Alresford. In 2011\, over £2000 was raised for the School\, Scouts and Save the Children and other smaller charities. \nThere will be many superb working Vintage Toy Train layouts on show\, of all makes and sizes\, making this a treat for visitors both young and old.

SUMMARY:2017 AGM & SPRING EVENT
DESCRIPTION:The 2017 Spring show and AGM will this year be held in Leicester at the Trinity Centre\, home of our very popular Autumn show (which will be taking place this year on November 5th). Bryan Pentland will be organising the show as usual and Paul Draycott and team will be our hosts. More details of displays are below but please contact Bryan for further information if you need to\,  contact details below. \n \nThe show opens at 10:30.  There will be a variety of vintage toy train layouts and displays covering a dozen different manufacturers over 70 years including: \n·         Tri-ang 00 Gauge  \n·         American Flyer 0 Gauge Tinplate layout \n·         Eggerbahn Layout 00  \n·         Large Tinplate 0 Gauge Layout with Hornby \, Bassette Lowke etc \n·         Hornby Dublo \n·         Lone Star push along \n·         Dublo James Bond themed layout \n·         A large club display of GWR train items \n·         A large display of books and trains from GWR \n·         A large vintage 0-gauge layout from a mix of manufacturers will be on the stage \nThere will in addition be 20 traders and the TCS Bring and Buy stall will be busy as usual.   \nHot food and free parking available.   \nThe AGM itself starts at 14:00 for one hour and will be held in the adjoining church. That is restricted to members but the show is open to all\, and all are very welcome. \nEntrance Fee is £4\, £3 concessions   \n
