David comments on his photo "The photograph was taken on my small Hornby Dublo 3 rail layout during a normal running session. It depicts the arrival of an afternoon restaurant car express at the station where local taxis and a bus are waiting to take passengers on to their final destination. The station is the lovely Dublo simulated concrete “Art Deco” style building, the taxis and mail vans are Dublo Dinkies, and the double decker bus is by Dinky Toys. The train is hauled by an example of my all-time favourite Dublo loco, a Duchess pacific.
The layout is loose-laid on a baseboard measuring approximately 6’9” by 3’0” and consists of a large oval with a curved passing loop at one end and a small goods yard, turntable and locomotive sidings contained inside the oval. By design there is no scenery or backscene as the layout is intended to represent a typical 1950’s/60’s “train set” based layout as often featured in Meccano Magazine and Hornby Dublo leaflets and catalogues at that time."
