Over the last 25 years I have collected 0 gauge train sets from the widest range of manufacturers possible totalling about 500 so far. I think I can rate Gnadler as the manufacturer of a range of the crudest of them all, that's not to say that all their trains were crude but most were. Started off in Vienna in 1929 by Richard Gnadler and wound up as a company around 1972, the family however maintained a toy shop up to about 1975. Here are a few pictures of their trains, some of the locos did not even have mechanisms and were just push along. If anyone knows of something cruder in 0 gauge please let us know.
