Three baseboards measuring 5 feet by 1 foot 8 inches have been constructed using 6mm plywood and 2 inch by 1 inch planed timber. Sizes have had to be increased from the original plan to accommodate the Wrenn points which are not very compact.
Track laying has begun on the board containing the station approach tracks. All point work is concentrated on this board - the prospect of an incoming goods train having to traverse 6 Wrenn points one after the other is quite daunting! I am laying all track on a base of 1/8th cork and I have a feeling that the project is going to slow down considerably from now on as each section of track and set of points is carefully " tweaked" to ensure smooth running.
