About one hour south of Tokyo on a fast commuter train, is the seaside resort of Enoshima. Served by a privately owned single track light railway from the main line station at Fujisawa down to the sea, it is a favourite modelling theme in Japan.
Within my collection of N gauge trains, I have four different liveries. The Japanese company Modemo produce a large range of light railway and tram units, including the Enoshima line.
I obtain mine direct from an Ebay seller in Japan; you can find them by searching their user name, plazajapan. I have been dealing with them for over 10 years, and they now have over 42,000 feedback, so I think reliable!
The remarkable feature of this line is that in Enoshima town it runs down the middle of the main street, totally unguarded,.....no skirting on the bogies....it is a train, not a tram.
When I visited a couple of years ago I took lots of photos. here are some of them, together with some pictures of the Modemo models...........very collectable!
