Our Photo of the Month for May is GNR at the NRM or in full Great Northern scale and model locomotives at the National Railway Museum from Dirk Hertel.
Dirk describes the scene as showing "two lithographed GNR clockwork locomotives made before WW1 by Carette, a small 0-4-0T and the magnificent 4-4-2 Atlantic. Both can be seen in action at the end of the short film below. The “scale model” in the foreground is a Penny Toy train, probably made by Hess."
