IN THE LATEST OF SIMON KOHLER’S BLOGS "SIMON SAYS ..." THE TRAIN COLLECTORS SOCIETY AND IN PARTICULAR OUR EDITOR PAT HAMMOND GET A GREAT MENTION
Simon Says blog is a regular feature of the Hornby website, in which Simon Kohler muses on how and why a variety of things happened at Hornby and the model railway trade in general; see http://www.hornby.com/uk-en/news/simonsays
In the latest blog (Friday 9 October) he discusses the use of fictional liveries on model trains. It is about Hornby’s (and its predecessors') use of fictional liveries on rolling stock. However as the blog's introduction explains, it was originally inspired by an article in the June Train Collector magazine by Pat Hammond, in particular a mention of a proposed Trebor Mint ‘sweetie’ tank wagon (see photo above from Pat Hammond) that was never put into production. The blog tells why!
Simon Kohler worked for Hornby for a little over 35 years, a major part of his work was in the product and brand development of Hornby trains whom he left last year. He now runs his own consultancy and among other activities is involved with the NRM's Locomition Models.
